Solar Lighting Installation Guide: Solar Garden Statue Light

(I)Pre-installation Preparation

1. Tool and Accessory Inspection

Confirm that the complete set of accessories for the solar garden statue light is complete, usually including the statue light main body, solar panel (some integrated on the top of the statue), embedded parts (if any), fixing screws, and rechargeable batteries (some pre-installed). Check that the accessories are intact: the solar panel surface has no scratches or damage, the statue light shell has no cracks, and the battery contact is good without leakage or damage. No additional tools are needed; some models may require a screwdriver, which can be prepared in advance.

2. Site Selection Points

Core principle: The solar panel must receive sufficient sunlight, avoid obstacles such as tall trees, buildings and trellises, and ensure at least 4-6 hours of direct sunlight every day; otherwise, the charging efficiency will be affected, resulting in insufficient nighttime lighting time. At the same time, the site selection should fit the garden landscape layout, and it can be placed beside the courtyard path, in the center of the flower bed, around the statue or in the planter cluster, taking into account both lighting effect and ornamental value. Avoid low-lying waterlogged areas to prevent rainwater from soaking the interior of the statue light and damaging the circuit and battery; avoid areas prone to collision or stepping to prevent statue damage.

3. Environment Confirmation

Check the soil or ground condition of the selected site before installation: for soil ground, ensure the soil is loose to facilitate fixing embedded parts or the statue light base; for hard ground (such as slate and cement ground), confirm that it can be fixed with screws (some models are suitable for hard ground, and some are only suitable for soil ground). At the same time, confirm that there is no strong electromagnetic interference in the installation area to avoid affecting solar panel charging and light control.

(II)Detailed Installation Steps

1. Battery Installation (if not pre-installed)

Open the battery compartment at the bottom of the statue light or under the solar panel, correctly install the rechargeable battery into the battery compartment according to the battery positive and negative marks, ensure the battery contact is tight, then close the battery compartment cover, tighten the screws (if any), and do a good job of sealing to prevent rainwater from seeping in. Note: Avoid reversing the positive and negative poles, otherwise the circuit will be damaged and it will not work normally.

2. Base Fixation

Option 1: Soil ground installation (model with embedded parts). Insert the embedded parts vertically into the soil at the selected position, with a burial depth of not less than 20cm, compact the surrounding soil to ensure the embedded parts are stable without shaking; then align the statue light main body with the embedded parts, fix it with screws, and tighten the screws to ensure the statue light is firmly connected to the base and will not tip over.
Option 2: Soil ground installation (model without embedded parts). Insert the statue light base directly into the soil, adjust the insertion depth according to the base length, ensure the base is completely buried or inserted to a sufficient depth, compact the surrounding soil to avoid tipping over due to wind or collision; if the soil is too hard, first dig a pit matching the base with tools, put the base in, then fill with soil and compact.
Option 3: Hard ground installation. Place the statue light at the selected position, adjust to level to ensure stable placement; if reinforcement is needed, stick anti-slip pads (self-prepared) at the bottom of the base, or fix the base to the ground with screws (need to drill holes in the ground in advance, be careful not to damage the ground).

3. Solar Panel Debugging

If the solar panel is adjustable, adjust the angle of the solar panel to face due south (in the northern hemisphere) to maximize sunlight reception. The angle can be adjusted according to the local latitude, generally 30-45° with the ground. Check that the solar panel surface is unobstructed and free of stains to ensure that sunlight can fully irradiate the solar panel surface.

4. Light Testing

After installation, place the solar panel in the sun to charge for 2-4 hours (it is recommended to charge for more than 8 hours for the first use) to ensure the battery is fully charged. When the light dims (evening or night), the statue light should turn on automatically; test whether the light brightness and irradiation range are normal; if it does not turn on automatically, check whether the battery positive and negative poles are reversed, whether the battery is charged or damaged, whether the solar panel is blocked, or turn on the light switch according to the manual (some models have manual switches).

(III)Daily Maintenance and Troubleshooting

1. Daily Maintenance

Cleaning and maintenance: Clean dust, fallen leaves and stains on the solar panel surface once a week, wipe gently with a soft cloth, avoid scratching with hard cloth or sharp tools to prevent damage to the solar panel coating and affect charging efficiency; regularly clean dust and stains on the statue light surface to keep the appearance clean; for outdoor use, apply a layer of waterproof wax regularly to enhance waterproof performance.
Battery maintenance: The service life of solar rechargeable batteries is generally 1-2 years. If the nighttime lighting time is significantly shortened (less than 2 hours) or the light brightness is significantly reduced, replace the rechargeable battery with the same model in time; when not in use for a long time, take out the battery and place it in a dry and ventilated place to avoid battery leakage and damage to the circuit; keep the battery away from high temperature and fire sources, and avoid exposure to direct sunlight.
Winter maintenance: In low winter temperatures, the battery life will decrease, which is a normal phenomenon. The angle of the solar panel can be adjusted appropriately to increase the lighting time; clean the snow on the solar panel and the statue light in time after snowfall to avoid snow blocking sunlight or damaging the statue.

2. Common Troubleshooting

Trouble 1: The light does not turn on. Troubleshooting directions: Whether the battery positive and negative poles are reversed, whether the battery is dead or damaged; whether the solar panel is blocked or has too many stains on the surface, and whether the charging is sufficient; whether the light switch is turned on (some models); whether the circuit is damaged (if the statue light is flooded, it may cause a short circuit, stop using it and contact after-sales service).
Trouble 2: Short lighting time and low brightness. Troubleshooting directions: Insufficient sunlight on the solar panel (adjust position or angle, remove obstacles); too many stains on the solar panel surface (clean in time); battery aging (replace with a new battery); low ambient temperature (normal phenomenon in winter, no maintenance required).
Trouble 3: The statue light tips over. Troubleshooting directions: Unstable base fixation (recompact the soil or reinforce the screws); improper site selection (avoid windy areas and re-select the site for installation); insufficient base insertion depth (increase the insertion depth or add counterweight).

(IV)Safety Notes

1. During installation and maintenance, ensure that the solar panel is not exposed to direct sunlight to avoid scalding hands due to high temperature; turn off the light switch when replacing the battery to avoid electric shock.
2. The statue light is an outdoor product. Although it has waterproof performance, avoid long-term immersion in water. Check whether the battery compartment is flooded after heavy rain. If it is flooded, dry it in time and use it after drying.
3. Prevent children from disassembling the statue light, battery or solar panel at will to avoid electric shock, accidental ingestion of batteries or damage to accessories.
4. If the statue light has circuit faults, shell cracks and other problems, do not disassemble and repair it yourself, and it is recommended to contact after-sales service for processing.
